Reporting to the Sr. Manager Quality, Safety, and Compliance, Facilities, the Compliance Specialist will play a vital role in ensuring the Department personnel comply with all internal, federal, and state regulations pertinent to the department. The Compliance Specialist involves proposing solutions, independently managing compliance-related tasks and special projects, upholding strict confidentiality, and complying with all legal and regulatory obligations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Review and understand policies, standards, and regulations applicable to Facilities, EVS, Horticulture, and Safety Departments. Assists in the design and development of programs, policies, and procedures to ensure department alignment and compliance with internal, federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.2. Supports the Sr. Manager Quality, Safety, and Compliance in the implementation, compilation, and preparation or maintenance of internal audit activities. Performs internal and/or external audit activities in areas of environmental, safety, key control, internal regulations, and regulatory requests3. Conducts scheduled audits and reviews to ensure execution of compliance standards, in addition to administering the control systems to prevent and or address violations of legal guidelines and internal policies.4. Understands document and record keeping requirements for relevant laws, regulations, and permits. Maintains up to date records of all compliance related data for the department.5. Tracks relevant laws and regulations and updates necessary operating manuals and procedural documents to reflect any applicable changes or updates to such laws and regulations. Provides training to employees on compliance related topics, policies, and procedures.6. Revises procedures and reports to identify hidden risk by conducting internal investigations on irregularities and errors.7. Actively participates in the completion of compliance related projects and tasks. Collaborates with representatives from departments across the enterprise to ensure consistency in compliance related projects and activities.8. Responsible for developing data analytics, generating reports, and presenting recommendations to management that are useful for corrective measures.9. Performs other responsibilities, duties, tasks, and assignments to support the efficient operation of the department.
EDUCATIONAL, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field required.
Minimum of two (2) years of progressive auditing, regulatory, or continuous improvement experience is required.
Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite, SharePoint, and Office 365 suite required.
Experience in a Casino or Hospitality preferred.
Experience with internet web navigation applications and acquaintance with other business software.

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS
At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
