The New York Hilton Midtown, is seeking its next Assistant Director of Engineering/ Property Operations to join the team! 

Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall are two blocks away and a short walk from Central Park. The hotel is opposite the Musuem of Modern Art, surrounded by subway and bus lines! This role is a great steppingstone position for a strong leader to showcase their skills with an 1,878-room property leading a team of 50 skilled workers across multiple trades.  

The ideal candidate for Assistant Director of Engineering/Property Operations has held a director role at a midsize property or an Assistant Director role at a large property.  Candidates who have held this role in the past have a knack for moving up through the ranks quickly! Experience leading a large team of trade specific associates which includes training and scheduling.

Shift Pattern: Sunday-Thursday- 8am-5pm. Full flexibility for other shifts as needed. 

Salary Range: $150,000-$180,000

What will I be doing?

As Assistant Director of Engineering/ Property Operations, you would be responsible for assisting in overseeing the functionality and safety of the facility to protect the well-being of all guests and team members. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Physical buildings, mechanical equipment, electrical systems, heating and cooling systems, life safety systems and grounds according to federal, state and local regulations
  • Manages preventive and corrective maintenance, special projects, and building operations, utilizes the maintenance management software (HotSOS) to ensure efficient tracking of projects
  • Ensures high level of service for the engineering operations team as well as inter-departmental collaboration, communication, and support
  • Works closely with all trades/union team members to ensure a good working relationship
  • Manages outside contractors on all outsourced projects to ensure compliance, high level of execution, warranties, minimized waste and budgetary guidelines
  • Assists in the execution of capital projects and property rehabilitations
  • Assist in monitoring and developing team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, scheduling, conducting counseling and evaluations, providing professional development and delivering recognition and reward
