Compensation: Based on Experience, Full-Time

We are seeking a dynamic Director of Hotel Operations to oversee all aspects of our hotel’s guest services, food & beverage and housekeeping departments. This leadership role requires a hands-on approach, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to create exceptional experiences for our guests. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and must have a flexible to schedule.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSABILITIES

Oversees all day-to-day operations of Rooms Division, ensuring that all established front office, housekeeping and hotel policies are followed. Represent the hotel as Senior Leadership MOD during scheduled shifts.

• Liaise with Senior Management to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals.

• Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of business to ensure smooth progress.

• Oversee customer support processes and organize them to enhance customer satisfaction.

• Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability.

• Revise and/or formulate policies and promote their implementation.

• Manage relationships/agreements with external partners/vendors.

• Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics.

• Provides assistance to other employees and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and the hotel.

• Communicate with Department Managers on all guest and employee concerns & challenges.

• Follow-up on any guest complaints or problems a guest may experience in a timely and professional fashion to ensure a quality guest experience.

• Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanour at all times. Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

  • Serve as the on-call leader during nights and peak times, addressing issues and making critical decisions as needed.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions to ensure staff are well-informed and motivated.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Position requires a flexible schedule and ability to work nights and weekends.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

Knowledge & Skills 

• Proven experience as Director of Operations or equivalent position

• Excellent organizational and leadership abilities

• Outstanding communication and people skills

• Knowledge of industry's legal rules and guidelines

• Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics

• Familiarity with MS Office and various business software

• Must have high school graduate level mathematical aptitude. Know standard cash handling procedures

• Must be fluent in oral and written English.

• Team leader and innovator relating to others.

• Computer savvy skills, excellent verbal and written skills.

• Skilled in all related PMS systems. 

Education & Experience

Requires 3-5 years’ experience in a Hotel Senior Leadership position. .

Training experience preferred.

  • Standing and walking is continuous for 4-5 hours at a time.
  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and ascending and descending stairs are repetitive movements.
