Join our team! We have an immediate openings for individuals who are committed to elevating the member and guest experience to fill the position of Full-Time Hotel Sales & Marketing Manager for the Los Angeles Athletics Club.

Job Summary:

This position contributes to the success of Crescent Hotels & Resorts (“Company”) by creating a positive experience for every member and guest who stays at the club. This is done by driving business through key market segments and working directly with the Director of Sales to assist in cultivating a high performing sales and marketing team that consistently delivers market growth and revenue objectives, as well as meeting or exceeding quarterly sales goals. The Sales and Marketing Manager will also assist in marketing strategies such as promotions and only advertising seasonal marketing packages and initiatives to drive revenue and assist with the development of marketing campaigns and tracking progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing strategic sales plans
  • Managing a portfolio of accounts and building strong relationships with clients
  • Identifying potential clients and business opportunities
  • Meeting with clients to discuss their specific requirements and the services that the hotel can provide
  • Negotiating contracts and packages to maximize profits
  • Preparing reports on goals, sales, and profits and presenting these to senior management
  • Keeping abreast of trends and changes in the hotel and hospitality industry
  • Working collaboratively with other departments, particularly reservations and front office, to ensure hotel services meet client needs
  • Maintaining accurate records of all pricings, sales, and activity reports
  • Attending trade shows and industry events to broaden network in Los Angeles and increase business, with occasional travel via flight two to three times a year for approx. 4 days per year to different market segments within the US.
  • Assist the Director of Sales with Marketing Strategies
  • Assist the Director of Sales with initiatives to drive revenue via various marketing channels
  • Assist with the development of marketing campaigns

Be an efficient role model and monitor employees’ daily activity to ensure staff productivity and alignment with company values, goals, and culture:

  • Manage, model, set tone, and guide employees in the company’s culture, values, policy, and service expectations; promote Company and department initiatives, policy, procedures in a positive and motivational manner.
  • Hold employees accountable for results and service quality; enforce job expectations, training, coaching, and make discipline recommendations to Department Director in a timely manner for all staff policy violations and not meeting service expectations.
  • Safeguard confidential information properly; ensure work area is efficiently secured and confidential information related to employee, customers, business partners, and company are stored securely in a timely basis and only discussed with others as necessary for business purposes and allowed by law.

Personnel Management:

  • Review all payroll timesheets for areas supervised and submit them in a timely manner for final approval.
  • Enforce sound safety and housekeeping practices.
  • Manage facilities staff to deliver expected service levels within the prescribed budget.
  • Respond to problems in a tactful and expedient manner; resolve employee issues through problem resolution.

  • Take responsibility for maintaining an uncompromisingly clean Hotel; maintain your work area neat and clean, clean after yourself in employee and member areas, be proactive in maintaining member areas neat and clean by performing minor clean up as needed (i.e., cleaning minor food and liquid spills, storing forgotten exercise equipment, wiping equipment, etcetera); and promptly report needed repairs, potential safety issues, significant cleaning jobs to housekeeping, cleaning, and/or engineering department.
  • Follow through with resolutions to problems from beginning to end; break away from your regular duties if needed to follow through on resolutions.
  • Be knowledgeable of Club and hotel information; maintain sufficient and updated information to be able to easily answer questions from members and guest thoroughly from beginning to end.
  • Practice personal hygiene: wear clean and pressed clothing, and proper uniform if required by your position.
  • Use proper and welcoming telephone etiquette; do not screen calls, answer calls by the 3rd ring, smile while you speak.
  • Reply to emails the same day you receive them.
  • Anticipate and comply with member needs and record their preferences.
  • Be an ambassador of the Los Angeles Athletic Club in and outside the workplace; always represent yourself and the club professionally and with respect.

Ensure A Safe Work Environment:

  • Comply with the Company Health and Safety (H&S) processes while working on projects, initiatives, and other work-related duties; perform job duties in a way that will not cause danger to self or others, or violate local, state, federal, environmental regulations.
  • Promptly correct or report any hazard, potential hazard, or unsafe work condition to the Director of Facilities, and/or People & Culture; wear protective equipment when required; ensure work location is kept safe, clean, and organized.

Education, licenses, & certifications:

  • Required or Ideal: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in same or similar positions in the { Hotel Sales and Markingindustry, ideal candidate is a Sales and Marketing Coordinator or Sales and Marketing manager in a hotel now looking for a great new experience.
  • Required or Ideal: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Required: Current California Driver License with satisfactory Department of Motor Vehicle driving record, and must be willing to travel by flight

Essential qualifications:

  • Required: At least eighteen (21)years of age.
  • Required: Strong understanding of the hotel industry and market trends in Los Angeles.
  • Required: Reliable and punctual attendance.
  • Required: Excellent time-management skills; prioritizing and completing assigned job tasks effectively.
  • Required: Travel (by vehicle and plane) for business, training, and/or development, including overnight trips.
  • Required or Ideal: Excellent oral, speech, and writing skills in English. Fluency in Spanish is not required but a plus.
  • Required or Ideal: Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Required Travel for business purposes, including overnight travel
  • Required: Computer Experience: proficient Microsoft Office programs, Outlook, and ability to learn a variety of other software.
  • Required Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey messages clearly and compose correspondence with correct and proper grammar.
  • Required Strong presentation skills; convey messages clearly and confidently; persuade and effect change positively.
  • Required Capable of working effectively independently at a high level with minimal supervision
  • Required: Strong analytical skills.

Physical requirements, Demands, and working conditions:

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Work involves sitting most of the time; walking and standing are required only occasionally.

Pay: $75,000.00 Annual Salary
