HOUSEKEEPING TAILOR & UNIFORM ATTENDANT is responsible to oversee departmental uniform distribution through issuance, logging, inventory, maintenance, and return of all items, including ensuring the presentation of all uniforms have a professional appearance and are properly tailored and pressed according to company standards.

The expected base wage range for this position is: $22.50 per hour. This position may be eligible for additional compensation according to the Company's policies, as they may be amended from time to time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• To issue uniforms to new hires as well as current associates as needed.
• To ensure current and new associates have the proper amount of uniforms issued.
• To accurately measure new associates for proper uniform fit and have the uniforms ready before the new hire’s start date. 
• To be responsible for uniform alterations and to make sure of best fit, including making garments shorter or longer as needed.
• To iron and steam clothes that are altered to be ready for pick up by the employee. 
• To be familiar with different types of sewing equipment and tools. 
• To inspect uniforms and ensure the sewing of missing buttons, zippers, hooks, and other details on clothing as needed and before sending to laundry and/or dry cleaning. 
• To ensure all uniforms sent for dry cleaning are inspected upon delivery and meet company standards.
• To have uniforms ready for Housekeeping associates by the start of their shift.
• To perform monthly inventory of uniforms and report to the Director of Housekeeping of uniform needs.
• To work in partnership with Human Resources to plan for new incoming associates and ensure stock and issuance of uniforms.
• To ensure the cleanliness, organization, and overall condition of the uniform room.
• To perform projects and other tasks as needed.
• To maintain the proper care and cleanliness of equipment.  

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to use a sewing machine with different types of stitching. Must have tailor or seamstress experience. Must be able to alter garments to specifications and do repairs to buttons, zippers, hems, and damaged uniforms. Ability to read and write in English. English fluency required. Spanish fluency preferred. Able to follow detailed verbal and written instructions. Must be computer literate. Some clerical experience preferred.

SKILLS AND APTITUDES: Cutting, sewing, altering and fitting. Detail oriented. Organized and efficient. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize, as needed. Safety-minded. Strong verbal and communication skills. High quality standards for production and service. Courteous, friendly, and professional manner. Good team player. Able to work productively with little supervision. Trustworthy and reliable.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Sits and walks short distances throughout shift. Bends, stoops, reach, and lifts up to 20lbs. to perform routine job tasks. Potential for fast-paced work environment.

TRAVEL: This position is not expected to travel for work.

REMOTE WORK: This position is not eligible to work remotely. The candidate must be able to work in-person during normal business hours.
