Description

An Electrician will repair, maintain, install and monitor electrical equipment through the hotel and respond to all electrical related emergency calls.

What will I be doing?

As an Electrician, you will be expected to will repair, maintain, install and monitor electrical equipment through the hotel and respond to Guest, Manager, Team Member, and emergency requests promptly. Specifically, an Electrician will perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Perform maintenance work on a wide range of electrical equipment
  • Assemble and install electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment
  • Install audio/visual equipment in Guest rooms or function rooms along with microphone and lighting systems in function rooms, as requested
  • Respond promptly and efficiently to emergency calls
  • Conduct inspection tours to ensure that electrical equipment and lighting is working properly
  • Complete the preventative maintenance schedule and incident reports
  • Maintain all tools, equipment, and working areas to proper condition
  • Keep technical training knowledge and skills current
  • Tag electrical items and maintain a register, if required
  •        To fully support the Company’s values and culture to ensure guest satisfaction. To be fully familiar with the Conrad Brand Standards and the Quality Assurance Audit and to follow these standards of service at all times. To keep up-to-date with the SALT results and to seek to positively influence these results by following the Conrad Brand Standards. To maintain a high guest service focus by approaching your job with the guests always in mind and being proactive in a timely manner towards their needs and requests. To have a positive impact, taking personal responsibility and initiative to resolve issues, always clearly communicating with both guests and colleagues. To actively promote the services and facilities of the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island and the Conrad Hotels and Resorts to guests and suppliers of the Resort. To maintain a high standard of appearance and personal hygiene at all times by adhering to the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island Grooming Standards. To report to duty punctually and consistently. To have a complete understanding of and adhere to the resort’s policy relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety and take necessary action when required. To provide guests with friendly, efficient, accurate and polite service at all times. To be flexible, responding quickly and positively to changing requirements including the performance of any tasks requested of you. To takes direction from and carry out any requests by management in conjunction with work. To perform planned maintenance schedules and emergency breakdowns on electrical equipment as requires by the Building Services Coordinator or delegate. To perform installation work on electrical equipment as require by the Building Services Coordinator or delegate. To perform all tasks in a safe and tradesman-like manner. To assist Engineering staff members in the correct principles / Engineering procedures associated with the installation / repair of electrical equipment  associated with the Hotel operation. To assist the Building Services Cordinator in the day to day operation of the Hotel complex. Ensuring maintenance requests are completed in a timely manner, that the purchasing requests for equipment items are submitted to the Cordinator or delegate  as not to disrupt the hotel operation. To ensure that a record is kept of the maintenance requests as required by the Brand standards. To report any electrical works you feel may contravene the MEB standards or any other relevant codes or bylaws to the DOE/Chief Engineer or delegate  Prioritize work as required to lessen guest discomfort. To be fully conversant with all Occupational Health and Safety, Fire and Evacuation procedures To be responsible in adhering  to the safety standards given in material safety data sheets and equipment specifications sheets. To ensure all areas you are working in are left clean and tidy. To operate, install and maintain electronic or microprocessor controlled equipment to areas of the Hotel complex To ensure all engineering plant and equipment is clean and maintained to a high standard of operational efficiency and safety throughout the day.   Report and fill out maintenance requests concerning breakages and or defective plant and equipment. To carry out other duties as required by the Chief Engineer or delegate

Requirements

  • Previous electrical experience, preferably in a hotel or a similar varied work environment such as ships, hospitals, or retail businesses
  • An electrical trade qualification, required
  • Current knowledge of general maintenance, engineering work, and Guest room repairs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work without close supervision and within established timeframes
  • Strong work ethic
  • A passion for managing a variety of projects and tasks throughout the day
