Description

The Recreation Manager is responsible for the comprehensive planning, coordination and management of all resort activity and entertainment programming as well as the daily operations of the pool and beach areas. This includes overseeing the rental and maintenance of beach palapas, pool cabanas, umbrellas and daybeds. The Recreation Manager leads the Pool and Beach Team to deliver high quality service, uphold Hilton’s standards and create memorable experiences for guests. overseeing the daily operations of the pool and beach areas, ensuring the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.

What will I be doing?

Operational Management:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the pool and beach areas, including opening and closing procedures and towel distribution, ensuring facilities are well-maintained, clean and safe.
  • Manage the reservation, rental and upkeep of beach palapas, pool cabanas, umbrellas and daybeds and other applicable furniture.
  • Ensure all pool and beach services and facilities are maintained to the highest standards, maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in all areas.
  • Monitor and manage budgets related to pool and beach operations, including payroll, revenue, and expenses.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Coordinate with other hotel departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.

Guest Experience:

  • Ensure exceptional guest service standards are maintained at all times in both the pool and beach areas. Handle guest complaints and feedback professionally and efficiently.
  • Design and coordinate recreational activities and entertainment programs that cater to diverse guest interests and demographics and enhance guest experience by introducing new and innovative recreational offerings

Staff Management:

  • Recruit, train, and manage pool and beach staff, including pool and beach/ activities attendants, and supervisors.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Create staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and optimal service delivery.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, creativity and excellence.
  • Provide extra attention and support to staff working in sun and heat conditions, ensuring their well-being and motivation

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and standards in the pool and beach areas and safe operating of equipment utilized.
  • Implement and maintain hygiene and sanitation protocols for the pool and beach facilities.
  • Conduct regular health and safety training for pool and beach staff.
  • Monitor weather conditions and ensure safety measures are in place for guest protection.
  • Regularly inspect equipment and facilities, addressing any maintenance issues promptly.

Facility Maintenance:

  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all pool and beach areas, including pools, decks, cabanas, and surrounding areas.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to address any repair or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Manage inventory levels of pool and beach supplies and equipment, ensuring timely ordering and restocking.

Activities and Events:

  • Develop and oversee recreational activities and events for guests, including water sports, fitness classes, and special events.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote activities and events to guests.
  • Monitor and analyze participation and feedback to continually improve the guest experience.

Financial Management:

  • Manage the financial aspects of the recreation department, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Monitor revenue from rentals and recreational activities, identifying opportunities to increase profitability.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies to boost rentals and participation in activities.

Supportive Functions:

In addition to the performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions: 

Assist in developing and updating the pool and beach service menu. Support the Sr. Director of Resort Experience in strategic planning and development of new recreational programs. Participate in hotel management meetings and contribute to overall hotel strategy and operations. Provide cover and support for other management roles within the recreation department during absences or peak periods. Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities. Ensure all equipment in the pool and beach areas is well-maintained and arrange for repairs or replacements as needed. Assist in maintaining accurate records of guest preferences and feedback to tailor services to their needs.
