What will I be doing? 

Handles Cost control and Receiving section that oversees cost of purchases and inventories.  Concerns on overall supervision on the timely and accurate cost and financial reporting. Will provide assistance in reporting to the Assistant Financial Controller and Director of Finance and ensures the smooth and effective day to day work routine of the concerned sections, and in particular the cost control of food and beverage. 

§  Prepare and distribute daily food and beverage cost report. (Flash report).

§  Prepare food and beverage cost board report during month-end closing, providing explanations for deviations of actual cost over budget and forecasts.

§  Verify food and beverage supplier invoices before forwarding to Accounts Payable for processing.

§  Conduct spot checks for spoilage, wastage and pilferage in all outlets and ensure that all par stock levels in the kitchen and bars are strictly adhered to and the correct instruments of measures are being used in bars.

§  Ensure proper accounting of inter bar and kitchen transfer. Ensure proper postings are done.              

§  Review all postings all food, beverage and tobacco monthly inventory via check SCM system.

§  To perform monthly stock takes of the entire hotel’s inventory.

§  Assist in receiving all items into the Hotel and oversea the overall operations of the Receiving / Store Department.

§  Assist in periodic physical operating equipment and linen inventory exercise.

§  Carry out any other duties and responsibility assigned by the Cost Controller or Assistant Financial Controller.

§  Provides a timely and responsive service to both internal and external customers.

§  Understand the mechanisms behind the computerized information network especially related to the gathering of data for processing at an accounting/bookkeeping level.

§  Matches Purchase Orders to receiving records and eventually to invoices.

§  Ensures all invoices are authorized by Department Heads.

§  Ensures all food, beverage and general transactions relating to the accounts payable ledger are promptly entered.

§  Ensures cost control records are effectively kept for ease of audit.

§  Adheres to courtesy standards at all times and ensures that all staff does the same. Monitors conformity and takes corrective action where required.

§  Oversees, thorough training of all cost control/receiving/store team members including induction and ongoing training, nominates departmental trainers and ensures their ongoing effectiveness.

§  Ensures that staff are regularly trained in the mandatory training e.g., Check SCM, Food Handling etc.

§  Assist in developing best practices cost control procedures. This to be an area of continuous review and development.

§  Assists the AFC/DOF in providing support on financial and commercial matters to the Hotel Team.

§  Co-ordinates departmental leave and organize coverage of positions during staff absence.

§  Assists in making sure that Team Members’ Lounge area is maintained to high standards of operation.

§  Monitors and maintains the proper appearance of the office area.

§  Ensures that the Hilton Brand Service Standards is fully implemented and adhered to by all Team Members

§  Assists the Management Team and Heads of Department through an active and visual presence in identifying Learning and Development needs within each department.

§  Can positively counsel Team Members in career development, tasks, grievances, discipline, etc.

Requirements

What are we looking for? 

Holds a degree in Finance and/or Accounting 3 to 5 years of finance experience , 2 years in a supervisory capacity Minimum 2-4 years work experience in Purchasing / Cost Control Well developed reporting and analytical skills
