Staff Accountant:

The Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for processing payment of invoices and cash deposits as well as the scanning and coding accounts payable invoices. The Staff Accountant is expected to strictly adhere to all Hutton Brickyards accounting policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and input all accounts payable invoices into accounting system accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile all vendor statements on a weekly basis.
  • Review and reconcile daily revenue report and post/track various adjustments to the Profitsword system.
  • Prepare daily cash deposits, reconcile over/shorts and distribute a daily summary report.
  • Research and respond to all credit card chargebacks.
  • Reconcile open folio balances daily.
  • Assist guests with questions concerning charges on their credit card statements.
  • Monthly gift certificate reconciliation.
  • Post credit card payments from clients when appropriate.
  • Maintain all appropriate tax exempt and certificates of insurance documents in excel.
  • Comply with all federal, state and local policies and guidelines.
  • Assist in any other projects assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of two years’ experience with accounts payable/bookkeeping experience, preferably automated accounts payable/general ledger systems.
  • Prior balance sheet reconciliation experience a plus.
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with prior hospitality accounting experience preferred.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills with the ability to gather and analyze information.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skill set, using it to compile data into statistical overviews to develop tools such as pivot or dynamic tables, macros, graphs, conditional formatting, lookup references and data filters.
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to organize work, establish priorities, and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive, professional demeanor.
  • Availability for normal business hours, with flexibility to work hours outside the typical workday based on business demands is required.
