Newly remodeled in 2020, J's Restaurant is the heart of the Horseshoe Bay Resort hotel! The newly reimagined J's Restaurant features indoor and outdoor seating, and serves Hill Country inspired dishes with service available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Manager will also oversee the Bar & Lounge which share the indoor space. As well as poolside food and beverage service. In addition, this Restaurant Manager is also responsible for ensuring quality In-Room Dining Service.


  • Supports and manages the outlets while working closely with the Director of Food & Beverage, Conference Services/Events, and other hotel departments.
  • Responsible for short and long term planning of all outlets, including the Restaurant, Lounge, In-Room Dining, and Poolside.
  • Ensure effective hiring, training, development, promotion and continuous reinforcement.
  • Lead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction results.
  • Full understanding of Associate engagement.
  • Develop and implement creative strategies for revenue enhancement and cost containment.
  • Develop and recommend the budget, marketing plans and objectives. Manage within those approved plans.
  • Proactively plan, coordinate and manage special events and holiday functions.
  • Ability to take the initiative to run the outlets as a free standing entity.


  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • College degree in a hospitality related industry, valued.
  • Must have two years of experience in the food and beverage industry and one year supervisory experience.
  • Supervisory, leadership, management and coaching skills.
  • Previous banquets and events planning and execution experience.
  • Knowledge of different types of food and beverage production.
  • Knowledge of different types of wine and spirits and their service.
  • TABC certified and Tips Trained required; Food Handlers required.


  • Requires flexibility of schedule, creativity, social and interpersonal skills, decision making ability, initiative and sense of urgency. These skills are required in order to address the daily items or issues which occur on a daily basis within the resort.
  • Experience in customer service; resort experience preferred.
  • Strong management, organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Knowledge of various software programs, valued. Knowledge of Agilysys POS system preferred.
  • Requires a high degree of problem solving abilities.
  • Requires excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, leadership abilities, and ability to demonstrate flexibility and patience when working with others and when motivating teams.
  • Operate 10-key calculator by touch.
