Under the direction of the Supervisor, Slot Floor, the Lead Slot Attendant provides support for prompt service excellence to guests in the assigned area gaming area. This role will expedite service calls, fix minor machine errors, and keep the gaming floor clean and organized. Additionally, the Lead Slot Attendant will resolve minor guest complaints, solve minor disputes, and escalate issues appropriately. They are responsible for verifying jackpots, expediting paperwork, and accurately paying jackpots.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Supports the operation by monitoring assigned zones and attendant staff. Conducts cash transactions with guests in a prompt and accurate manner. Monitors attendant response to service calls via smart device or radio to ensure prompt service to guests. Required to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and address service-related needs in assigned area(s) including assisting staff and guests with questions or needs, cleaning slot area by pushing-in chairs, throwing away trash, emptying ashtrays, or assisting team members with their responsibilities. Answers questions regarding different games offered and instructs guests on proper play of games. Helps to ensure rules of play are followed.

2. Assesses and fixes minor machine and printer repairs, replaces ticket paper, verifies machine claims and information to determine outcome of claim; notifies supervisor when necessary. 

3. Verifies accuracy of large transactions and tax paperwork along with accurately identifying winning guests while paying single jackpots up to approved levels. Cashes tickets for customers (per approved procedures: system outages, disabled patrons, etc.). Responds to jackpot calls in a prompt manner. Responsible for verifying jackpot information on the machine and the correct jackpot winner. Accurately documents jackpot and guest information; must be able to explain game results that triggered a jackpot or bonus win.

4. Resolves minor conflicts involving customers and/or employees. Escalates matters appropriately. Utilizes various resources (e.g., game recall, system information) to resolve claims and disputes within the scope of their authority.  

5. Assists with training, development, and mentoring attendants, within scope and as requested.  

6. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

Education/Experience/Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.  

  • Minimum one (1) year casino and/or previous cash handling experience required. 

  • Must have knowledge of general arithmetic and its application to monetary transactions and/or machine payout amounts; must possess the ability to calculate percentages.  

  • Must be able to speak and write the English language for required communication.  

  • Must be proficient at handling large amounts of money, while performing cash transactions with customers.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
