The iconic Waldorf Astoria is seeking aBanquet Manager to join the leadership team at the award-winning Las Vegas property!
Located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, this luxurious hotel has 389 rooms, 6 food and beverage outlets, and 12,000 square feet of meeting space. This includes a 3-meal restaurant, fine dining restaurant, tea lounge, bar, pool cafe, and in-room dining.
In this role, you will be overseeing the set up and operations of our Banquet functions, managing all banquet Team Member and reporting directly to the Director of Banquets.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years experience in similar position, preferably in luxury environment.
- Knowledge of the Las Vegas catering market is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
- Willing to work a flexible schedule and holidays.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
- Strong interpersonal skills.

What will I be doing?
You will work closely with the Director of Banquets in the overall day to day operation, and long term outlook of the catering facilities. The Banquet Manager will help create a pleasant environment and experience for guests. In addition, this individual will have operational and financial responsibility for the overall Banquet operation. He/she is overseeing the overall organization, insuring the implementation and consistency of the company standards. The Banquet Manager will be accountable for overseeing all banquet functions by providing leadership and overall supervision to banquet staff while ensuring a high standard of guest satisfaction while operating in the established budgets and goals
- Provide leadership and support for all banquet colleagues.
- Hire, train, motivate, discipline, direct, and supervise the work of the colleagues in the Banquet Department.
- Develop and maintain all training programs on a continual basis to ensure a high degree of professionalism within the colleagues in accordance with the standards of the company policies and guidelines.
- Schedule all colleagues to maintain the service standards of Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas, while operating within budgeted labor cost and CBA guidelines.
- Ensure proper care, security and maintenance of hotel equipment through proper supervision of service personnel.
- Coordinate and insure the needs of the Catering department with the managers of interrelated departments.
- Prepare the payroll and gratuity reports as required.
- Prepare banquet checks with all back up for collection at the end of functions. Post all revenues in IG-point of sales system according to banquet event orders and reconcile checks with Delphi system.
- The ability to attend regular catering meetings to obtain information of the upcoming contracted functions. Furthermore capture information communicated via banquet event order change log and other channels and adjust and/or update existing banquet event orders.
- Organize and orchestrate any last minute changes or details to functions.
- Post all contracted function sheets and give instructions to assistants to the team ensure the success of the function.
- Prepare task lists for the setup team and guide them through the event setup process if needed.
- Monitor and verify colleague’s side work and cleaning duties and temperature monitoring logs.
- Monitor the colleague's appearance, attitude, and degree of professionalism to insure their strict adherence to Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas's standards.
- Conduct monthly A-list meetings and quarterly department meetings and provide a regular forum for improving departmental communication.
- Take an active role in implementing safety procedures and following up within the department.
- Take an active role in maintaining and developing where necessary Standard Operating Procedures as well standards and procedures for FLHSS
- Execute and fill the role of the Director of Banquets in his/her absence.
- Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff
