Job Summary
A chauffeur is a professional driver responsible for transporting passengers in a vehicle, usually a luxury car or limousine. The role involves ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers while providing high-quality customer service.
Job Duties
- Greets, welcomes and creates a service of excellence on the Plaza for all guests of Conrad Nashville
- Presents a courteous, calm, kind, attentive, authentic and courteous service at all times.
- Drives in a superior manner, with accurate use of directional assistance, careful speed as to allow for a timely service and regard for travel times. Knowledge of the airport, downtown traffic flows and intersections to ensure safety at all times
- Welcomes all guests and gives a level of confidence with calm clear communication and has the ability to listen with empathy, making appropriate conversation in all situations with a high regard for all guests’ privacy and security. Adds to a consistently high level of elevated service for an excellent arrival and farewell experience, positively impressive at all times
- Assists and directs traffic on the Plaza as to a swift valet experience, ensuring the flow of access is free at all times
- Offers luggage assistance to all in a discrete, efficient, safe and secure manner, with clear communication and the ability to listen with empathy and demonstrate correct lifting
- Resolves guest challenges as they arise, with empowerment to exceed expectations in line with company goals, objectives, vision and values of The Conrad Nashville

Offers guest transportation with the house car to an established radius, or as directed to ensure guest VIP arrival/farewell
- Must hold a valid US driving license for TN and all appropriate insurance to drive vehicles in line with Conrad Nashville polices and all legal requirements
- Ability to charge, drive and exercise all safety and healthy protocol for an electrical driven house car
Key Responsibilities
- Greets guests immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome. Opens car doors for arriving and departing hotel customers, assists with the guest arrivals from sprinter / coaches or limousines in line to exceed Forbes service of excellence
- Maintains driveway traffic flow to allow main hotel entrance and Plaza is accessible at all times. Ensures ample space for passengers with all items for both loading and unloading party pick up points, coordinates with Valet for an excellent welcome / farewell experience
- Reads luggage tags and provides claim tickets to ensure appropriate delivery. Grasps, lifts and / or carries or otherwise moves packages, luggage or boxes from cars, buses and vans, placing packages and luggage onto baggage carts safely and storing in secure area for retrieval by bell staff
- Proactively retrieves luggage from luggage storage for guests who are moving throughout the hotel, and secures all items with claim tickets to promote high levels of security
- Follows all safety and security protocols of Conrad Nashville
- Welcomes and offers guest service to exceed guest expectations at all times, following Forbes service excellence to ensure exceptional guest service for all at Conrad Nashville, with authentic delivery
- Offers information to orient the guest through the property, using accurate information on all F&B / event services. Knowledgeable of services, prices and ability to seek information to assist at all times (ie: parking, connected room, events in house, opening times for Blue Astra and Thistle & Rye, as an example yet not limited to)
- Promotes a safe and secure environment for our guests and fellow team members
- Clear communication in calm manner both face to face and over all radio-based systems
- With empowerment to resolve any guest concerns, shows empathy, offers apologies and demonstrates good listening skills with the ability to resolve concerns in a proactive manner, or seek guidance to do so.

- Drives Conrad house car with the ability to ensure transportation is offered from the doorman to guests and hotel VIP’s within an established radius for guest and team assistance
- Consistently demonstrates positive body language, a clear telephone voice with ability to show empathy, kindness and pro-active thinking in line with SOP & Conrad Nashville service excellence
- Maintains an alert and attentive demeanor at all times in addition to remaining calm during periods of heavy business volumes.
- Able to offer guest suggestions for appropriate local entertainment in Nashville
- Upholds all procedures for VIP guests, security protocol and safety of all
- Holds a valid US driving license for TN and all appropriate insurance to drive vehicles in line with Conrad Nashville polices and all legal requirements
- Comply with all systems and procedures trained by Front Office Manager / Guest service Manager: Cash handling Procedures & all operational POS systems & hotel technology
- Promotes Forbes / HHonors and relevant programs, as to ensure benefits are promoted and enrollments achieved, following all guidelines as trained.
- Maintains the house car in a clean, polished and well maintained
- Remain calm and alert especially during emergency situations and heavy hotel activity.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in customer service / driving role
- Valid TN driving license
- Proven interpersonal skills with a track record of positive service interactions
Preferred
- Luxury hotel experience preferred
Physical Requirements
- Position requires a period standing & driving
- Ability to drive a large SUV vehicle with a current valid driving license
- Able to stand, walk, move, bend and reach for all of the working shift. Must be able to stand and walk for 8 hours a day. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability, and visual activity.
- Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
- All team members must maintain a neat, professional, clean and well-groomed appearance.
- Must be flexible to work any day of the week, weekends, and holidays if assigned.
