Position Summary:

Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the hotel guest areas to include, but is not limited to, hotel lobby, restrooms, and outside premises. Promotes and exhibits World Class Guest Service to all the Isleta Casino and Resort employees and guests.

All Team Members will display 100% commitment to World Class Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of Guest Service Standards established by the Isleta Resort and Casino.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class.   • Strips, finishes, high-speed burnishes, spray buffs, neutral cleans, restores, etc. all floor surfaces as necessary and/or assigned. Performs all cleaning, restoration and shampooing to all floors assigned.
  • Exercises care in the use of cleaning supplies, methods, and equipment, while following all safety guidelines.
  • Thoroughly dust all furniture, pictures and shelves in public areas
  • Thoroughly clean sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, tiles, counters, walls, stalls, vents, and/or floors with cleaning agents, adhering to cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning agents.
  • Thoroughly clean and polish all metal surfaces, applying pressure in repeated motion.
  • Thoroughly clean all elevators and elevator tracks
  • Clean ashtrays and empty trash in public areas
  • Performs all hard and soft floor maintenance duties.
  • Cleans and polishes marble using proper techniques and equipment.
  • Scrubs and extracts carpets using proper techniques and equipment.
  • Dusts tops of ceiling vents and wall decorations using proper equipment.
  • Operates hand trucks and flatbed carts to move equipment to assigned work areas.
  • Removes all rubbish from trash containers and transports to proper disposal.
  • Uses and disposes of chemicals when conducting area cleaning.
  • Promotes and ensures an open and welcoming atmosphere that promotes skill enhancement. 
  • Greets internal and external guests, maintains a friendly and inviting atmosphere, and promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service.
  • Gives basic instruction, direction and information on all promotions and special events, as requested. 
  • Report all suspicious persons or activities, hazardous conditions, etc. to Supervisor and / or the Safety and Security Department.
  • Provide instruction and/or guidance for guests and associates to safely exit in fire or other emergency situations.
  • Must be willing to cross train and learn about other positions.
  • Occasionally performs other duties as assigned by supervisor / manager. Other duties may include those of the House person, Room Attendant and Laundry Attendant when necessary.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma of General Educational Degree (GED) equivalent, preferred.
  • One (1) year hotel experience (Housekeeping) preferred.

Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification

  • Must be able to acquire and maintain Non-Key Gaming License issued through POIGRA.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background investigation.
  • Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any days/hours as needed or required to meet business needs.
  • Must maintain all Isleta Casino and Resort-wide educational and certification requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be able to take direction and feedback well.
  • Must be able to accurately and successfully perform several tasks and meet deadlines under high levels of stress and with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess strong organizational and time management skills while paying close attention to details such as spelling, numbers, and grammar. 
  • Must be able to communicate, in writing and verbally, in English and in an effective, informative, and professional manner. Must possess a highly developed sense of customer service and interpersonal skills including high integrity and respect for individuals.
  • Must possess and exhibit a positive attitude towards internal and external guests at all times.
  • Must possess a strong commitment to the organizational goals and objectives while showing the utmost discretion and loyalty to the organization when dealing with confidential information and data.
  • Must be able to work a flexible and varying schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able ability to read, understand, follow, and adhere to label precautions on cleaning solutions and containers while enforce safety procedures.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Must be able to lift, move, place, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.

Working Conditions: 

Work is generally performed in a fast pace Resort and office setting with possible expose to hazards, Blood Borne Pathogens, other potentially infections materials, and unusual elements such as: dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Occasionally may be required to interact with hostile and/or angry guests. The work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks which, require following basic safety precautions and use of Personal Protective Equipment.
