Banquet Cook - Job Description 

We are looking for an on call Banquet cook to join our team. Scheduling will be based on the needs of the hotel.  Whether an extra cook is needed, or to help fill in for another’s vacation time.  As a Banquet Cook, you are responsible for prepping, cooking, plating, and serving food in large volume for events such as weddings, corporate events, conventions, holiday parties etc. We are looking for team players that assist one another and work with the service team to exceed our guests'' expectations and to provide them with nothing less than extraordinary dining experiences. You will report to the Banquet Manager. 

As a Banquet Cook, your job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Follow recipes and ensures all food is prepared to the correct temperature, consistency, an presentation.
• Must be able to read and understand BEO sheets. 
• Works with the Banquet Manager and team to ensure all events are executed seamlessly.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and equipment.
• Works quickly and efficiently in a high-pressure environment. 
• Adheres to all food safety and sanitation guidelines. 
• Labels all food items for food safety and shelf-life standards.
• Rotates product according to “First In, First Out" to maintain shelf-life standards.
• Understands and complies with food safety and temperature standards.
• Assists in an entire team effort.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to meet deadlines for a successful event execution.  
• Previous culinary experience cooking large quantities for both buffet and plated entrees. 
• Organizational skills-Ability to be organized in a changing environment.
• Ability to maintain a calm professional demeanor.
• Team oriented with and a positive attitude. 
• Projects and assignments are completed thoroughly, professionally and with care in a timely manner.
• Adjusts to high pressure situations and is open to change.
• Conducts themselves professionally at all times while setting the standard for all staff
• Expresses ideas and conveys information clearly, effectively and professionally.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must have reliable transportation
• You must be able to pass a thorough background check as well as be drug free.
