Reporting to the Salon Supervisor, the Nail Technician exhibits best in class nail and beauty services including, but not limited to knowledge of nail care services, and art techniques. The Nail Technician is responsible for operational excellence, superior product/service knowledge as well as ensuring a clean and safe environment for all guests, team members and vendors, while safeguarding enterprise assets and guaranteeing departmental integrity. The Nail Technician is also responsible for delivering the ultimate beauty experience to every guest, at all times, by providing nail-care services that exceed guest expectations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Responsible for greeting guests in the Salon, making them comfortable, and providing them with impeccable nail services. Demonstrates basic and advanced artistic techniques with manicures & pedicures and any other areas within their scope of practice.

2. Maintains the highest level of product knowledge and thorough knowledge of the nail and beauty care services offered. Demonstrates the ability to explain the ingredients in each product used and the benefits that they provide for our guests. Answers guest’s questions in a knowledgeable and professional manner while monitoring and adhering to the scheduled timeframe.

3. Utilizes best in class safety and sanitizing practices when preparing nail stations by cleaning and sterilizing tools using approved sanitizing procedures, as needed. Restocks products in nail areas to ensure efficient operation of the spa during shifts.

4. Ensures guest comfort and safety by discussing general wellness and service goals including identifying any medical or allergy concerns the guest may disclose prior to commencing service.

5. Creates a “Guest for Life” by providing each guest with the highest quality experience through personalized service by tailoring each service with luxurious, and results oriented enhancements.  Assists with maintaining strong loyalty wellness membership.

6. Assists with opening and closing duties for salon services while ensuring the cleanliness, health, and safety of all spa facilities, salon service areas, and dispensary of professional salon and nail products.

7. Collaborates with department leadership in the ongoing development and positioning of the beauty salon services and treatment offerings in terms of overall concept definition, philosophy, service and product offerings. 

8. Models and upholds enterprise and department policies and procedures as well as standard operating procedures.  Ensures day-to-day operations including product receiving, fulfillment, training/certification requirements, and compliance in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.

9. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

Education/Experience/Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of customer service and nail technician experience is required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year as a practicing licensed & certified nail technician in California is required.
  • Must adhere to the highest standards of sanitation, which includes cleaning and sanitizing tools and equipment.
  • Must be creative and artistic, with a very strong eye for detail.
  • Must demonstrate excellent writing, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must have good presentation skills.
  • Must have intermediate proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite as well as all compliance applications.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • Must meet state and local minimum standards for training and curriculum through a cosmetology or esthetician program.
  • A current and valid California State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology license is preferred.
