JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: Assist in all aspects of the hotel to maintain the property LANDSCAPING, POOL AND IRRIGATION SYSTEM in accordance with company standards by coordinating preventive maintenance and repairs as necessary in all ground area of the hotel interior and exterior areas. Monitor equipment maintenance to reduce any damage for lack of maintenance. Ensure the property meets all city standards, Q. A. inspections and health department requirements.

Prevent any hazards that can cause accidents to employees and guests. Monitor all areas including gates for proper operation to ensure safety and security of guests and employee is accomplished.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS:

  • INSPECTION OF ALL GUEST SERVICE IMPACT AREAS: Pool – Public Areas - Parking areas.
  • “PAR”: Part automatic replenish – Create part for all part needed to maintain landscaping equipment.
  • PURCHASE ORDER: all work schedule from 3rd parties must have a purchase order. Any expense over $100.00 must have a purchase order #.
  • Working knowledge of all aspects of property operation and repair, including but not limited to landscaping, equipment and fountain operation, plumbing and irrigation system.
  • Meet all Q.A. Inspection and pass the corporate standards.
  • Meet all secret shopper inspection and pass the corporate standards.
  • Monitor ALICE daily and ensure complying with daily ticket resolution.
  • Monitor POOL equipment to ensure pass health department requirements.
  • Monitor and audit any job done on property by third party vendors. Irrigation.
  • Request invoices for any order of supplies, tools or equipment and code invoices.
  • Good Working Knowledge of Information preventing, planning, maintaining plants and trees in the hotel.
  • Seek out and put forward energy saving ideas and eco-friendly programs.
  • Relentlessly train and self-motivate.
  • Maintain integrity of cost controls and proper maintenance of hotel assets.
  • Be on call 24/7 for any emergency situations that may arise.

Training & Development: Ensure all training and rehearsal are done based on deadline mandate by corporate office. Ensure all documentation is placed on the SYNC share folder to allow the corporate office to evaluate and score hotel performance. 

  • Safety Meeting: You are to support the planning of the Safety Meeting in monthly Basis. You must prevent any hazards condition that can create accidents due to lack of safety training for all employees /guests.
  • Bravo Meeting: You must be present at your department meeting.
  • Disciplinary Action and Coaching  Counselling: Monitor employees’ tasks and advise as needed.
  • Incident report: it is expected from your position to complete an incident report each time an employee or guest gets injured, property is stolen, property is damage, guest is injured, police is present in property and notify to General Manager immediately.
  • All incident reports must be placed in the SYNC folder for corporate to read it.
  • E.R.T. (EMERGENCY RESPOND TEAM) – It expected from you to be part of the ERT. You must be aware of all procedures and steps to react to any emergency in the hotel.
  • HAZARDS MATERIAL DATA SHEET: You must create a binder to be aware of proper use of chemical on each area and how to provide first aid to any employee injured by chemical used.
  • Any other duties assigned by your immediate by Director of Engineering.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting: Frequently. Padded office chair, chair with back for breaks and meal periods. Completing required paperwork, answering emails, various other computer driven tasks.
  • Standing/Walking: Frequently. Stairs, tile, rubber mats covering tile, concrete, padded carpet, marble, linoleum and gravel, etc. Inspecting the property.
  • Crouching (Bend at knees): Frequently. Lifting, completing tasks performed at low levels, putting supplies and materials away.
  • Reaching: Frequently Working on overhead equipment such as Air conditioning units, Lighting
  • Kneeling/Crawling: Frequently. Perform plumbing repairs, carpet repairs, and other duties performed at low levels.
  • Enclosed Spaces: Frequently: Areas with restricted space such as ceiling spaces, etc.
  • Stooping (Bend at waist): Frequently. Reading gauges and meters, lifting heavy objects, putting supplies and equipment away.
  • Twisting/Turning (Knees/waist/neck/back): Frequently. Perform electrical and plumbing repairs, reading gauges and meters, follow up on projects.
  • Climbing: Frequently. Ladders, step stools, and stairs.
  • Balancing: Frequently. Climbing ladders, scaffolding, stairs, and carrying tools and equipment.
  • Lifting Carrying: Frequently Equipment and Supplies up to 50 lbs. Occasionally: Equipment and supplies up to 100 lbs.
  • Pushing/pulling: Frequently: Equipment, carts, racks, etc. weighing approx. up to 100 lbs. Occasionally: Equipment up to 150 lbs.

Working Environment:

  • Interior of hotel in all areas of hotel. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures
  • Non-climate-controlled Office
  • Exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions
  • Exposure to various hazardous chemicals

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Landscaping / Maintenance / Engineering experience required in a hotel or related field.
  • An ability to work safely and confidently with landscaping equipment.
  • Proven organization and time management skills.
  • Guest focused, optimistic, self-disciplined, self-starter.
  • Multitask-oriented by assigning duties to employees under his supervision.
  • Ability to overcome unexpected obstacles through resourceful means.
  • Neat, professional appearance and good personal hygiene.
  • Able to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
  • Must be able to read, follow directions, and be flexible. 
  • Ability to communicate with guests, associates, and management.
  • Ability to take direction from hotel General Manager and accomplish task.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, follow-through courtesy, cooperativeness, and work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Complete required reports to include monthly/quarterly/annual reporting
