Job Title: Room Attendant Status: Non-Exempt Job Summary Cleans and prepares guest rooms and public areas by meeting established standards of cleanliness and propriety to assure guest satisfaction and maximize revenues. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Maintain the hotel rooms and building to ensure a safe and clean experience for hotel guests associates and vendors. Set up cleaning cart with supplies, maintain carts and storerooms in a clean and orderly fashion to enhance efficiency and ease of cleaning rooms. Clean and wipe windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures in rooms, public areas, and hallways Wash shower walls and tub, cleans toilets and stall walls, wipes exposed pipes, cleans mirrors, sinks and walls in order to have clean and sanitary guest and public restrooms. Replace towels, soaps and all room amenities and restocks literature that has been removed by previous guest, or is soiled or torn, to ensure adequate supply for arriving guests. Wash all hard floor areas (linoleum, tile, etc.) by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas. Dust and polish all furniture, fixtures and wall hangings. Strip bed of all linens and remakes with fresh linens Check closet for cleanliness, wiping closet door, handle and overhead shelves and restocking the guest room supplies (e.g., hangers, extra blankets, extra pillows) Vacuum rooms, public areas, and hallways Inspect door and window locks to ensure they are in working order and immediately alerts management to an unsecured or unsafe situation for the safety of guests and employees. Check lights and remotes to ensure all are in working order. Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times. Performs other duties as assigned. Education/Experience Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products, and operation of standard cleaning equipment. Less than a high school education; up to six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Other Ability to work a flexible schedule, nights, including weekends and holidays. Job Title: Apprentice Engineer Status: Non-Exempt Job Summary Participates and implements maintenance programs aimed at maintaining a zero-defect environment for guests. Inspects, maintains, and repairs all mechanical, electrical, and other equipment used by the guests or affecting the quality of their experience while visiting the property. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Create a safe, attractive and functioning environment for guests and associates by ensuring the hotel is maintained in accordance with safety standards. Complete hotel room and building repairs such as replacing ceiling tiles, filters, light bulbs, patching vinyl, and painting; performs repairs on toilets, sinks, laundry facilities, kitchen and other hotel property. Participate in plans for completing routine and preventative maintenance and renovations to ensure that building systems operate efficiently; coordinates work with hotel department managers. Maintain safety and cleanliness of the exterior of the hotel, grounds, pool and exercise room. Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work and adhere to budget standards set for the hotel per Chief Engineer Ensure hotel adheres to all regulatory and safety standards by meeting with government and insurance inspectors and taking corrective action as needed. Keep all mechanical and electrical up to date. Respond to house calls immediately. Escalate requests that cannot be fixed immediately. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum of three years of hotel or apartment experience. Knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing maintenance. Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instruction furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Other Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
