The Director of Housekeeping is responsible for directing and administering all housekeeping operations to ensure the overall cleanliness and quality of the Waldorf Astoria New York's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.  This position will oversee services at the Hotel and Residences. 

What will I be doing?

As a Director of Housekeeping, you will be responsible for but not limited to performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• • Ensure and maintain cleanliness, service and product quality standards of guest rooms, public spaces, restrooms, offices and banquet/meeting/conference rooms, and residential areas in accordance with federal, local and company health, sanitation and safety standards.
  • Lead, direct and administer all housekeeping operations to include, but not limited to, of systems use and management, budgeting and forecasting, inventory control, department management, policy and procedure implementation and enforcement and meeting participation and facilitation
  • Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, scheduling, conducting counseling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward
  • Recruit, interview and train team members
  • Ensure proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies by monitoring usage, providing complete training for team members and ensuring proper labeling of hazardous supplies in accordance with federal, state, local and company regulations

The annual salary range for this role is $160,000 - $180,000 and is based on applicable and specialized experience

The following outlines the required qualifications for the Director of Housekeeping:

• No less than 3 years of substantial work experience as a Director of Housekeeping or equivalent in a luxury hotel.  

• Significant experience managing a unionized workforce.
