Colonial Downs Racing, in New Kent, Va., hosts live thoroughbred racing on two state-of-the-art nationally renowned surfaces – the Secretariat Turf Course, is the widest grass racing surface in North America at 180 feet wide, on a 1 1/4-mile dirt track, which has played host to champion horses over the last two decades in prestigious races like the New Kent County Virginia Derby. Our dirt track is the country’s second largest and offers equine athletes a safe and sprawling oval on which to compete.

Rosie’s Gaming Emporium® has eight (8) locations across Virginia, all offering separate smoking and non-smoking gaming areas, fast-casual dining, live entertainment and simulcast horse racing, as well as fine dining and a luxury 100+ room hotel at The Rose Gaming Resort.

Our betting parlors are in New Kent, Vinton, Richmond, Emporia, Hampton, Dumfries and Collinsville,Virginia. Rosie’s in Vinton and Dumfries were voted Best Place To Work in 2022 by The Roanoke Times and InsideNova. 

The Rose Gaming Resort in Dumfries, features a $372 million gaming and entertainment complex with 175,000 square feet of gaming space, a luxury 100+ room hotel, eight bars and restaurants, a cultural venue, a space for meetings and events, and over 80 acres of green space.

The Live and Historical Racing segment includes pari-mutuel racing entertainment venues. Kentucky properties include the legendary Churchill Downs Racetrack, home of the Kentucky Derby which conducts live Thoroughbred racing during Spring, September and Fall Meets. 

Derby City Gaming & Hotel and Derby City Gaming Downtown are historical racing machine (“HRM”) entertainment venues that operate under the Churchill Downs pari-mutuel racing license in Louisville. Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel offers live harness racing and HRMs in Oak Grove. Turfway Park Racing & Gaming is a live winter Thoroughbred racetrack and HRM entertainment venue in Florence with ancillary HRM facility Newport Racing & Gaming in Newport. Ellis Park Racing & Gaming is a live summer Thoroughbred racetrack and HRM venue in Henderson with ancillary HRM facility Owensboro Racing & Gaming in Owensboro. 

In Virginia, the segment includes Colonial Downs Racetrack in New Kent, as well as eight HRM facilities that include Rosie’s Gaming Emporium venues located in Collinsville, Dumfries, Emporia, Hampton, New Kent, Richmond and Vinton and The Rose Gaming Resort also in Dumfries.
