  Founded in 1926, the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation is a private, not-for-profit educational, historic, and cultural institution that owns and operates one of the largest and best-known museum complexes in the world.   Christiana Campbell's Tavern: This historic tavern, George Washington's personal favorite, is Colonial Williamsburg's premier dining tavern. Grilled seafood dishes are balanced with regional favorites such as Crab Cakes and fish fillets. Chicken Imperial and steak are also offered. The entrees are complemented by long-time tavern favorites: Campbell's Spoon Bread, and Pumpkin muffins.
